| We used to stay at Appletree all the time, but our most recent stay was disappointing. On our last visit, we were sure they'd replaced all their beds with better quality ones. We were delighted. It turns out that they must've only replaced the bed's in their deluxe rooms (which is what we stayed in last time). The bed in our regular king room this time was uncomfortable. Paint fumes were present for the entire two night stay. Maintenance was painting the hallway on our floor. The owner appeared to be training a new manager, who seemed pleasant. Unfortunately, the trainee mistakenly programmed our keys for one night instead of two, so we found ourselves locked out of our room the second day. It was fixed quickly and painlessly, however. The female owner seemed very unfriendly and impatient with both the trainee and guests. Another small peeve - the free vendor samples we enjoyed finding in our room in the past weren't given to us until checkout this time. I guess I'll just use them when I stay at ANOTHER hotel when I visit Petoskey. |

| Perhaps not the best time of year to be in Petoskey...many of the quaint shops and restaurants are closed until mid-April. But we needed a quiet get-away and the Apple Tree provided us with that. Seemed they were in the midst of pre-season fix-ups...which is good. |

| Hotel is impeccably clean! Upon using the shower for the first time the drain was not working properly and there was 2-3 inches of standing water in the tub. Within minutes of reporting to the front desk we were promptly given a different room. The stay was great and the front desk staff were very courteous! |

| the apple tree inn was the best place i have stayed in petoskey. great location and a wonderful view of the bay from my balcony . all for a very affordable price. i will stay there again and again. |

| The room was comfortable and extremely clean. The view was excellent.
The owner (female) was not very pleasant. I felt that she was looking down at me. Like she felt superior. Never have been treated like that at any other hotel, inn or B&B.
It was awkward to ask to have the swimming pool and hot tub uncovered for each use. Also,it was the only place I've ever stayed where a couple friends could not join me at the pool. I stayed at the Inn while visiting family and friends in the Petoskey area over Christmas and we had to pay $50.00 to rent the pool another hotel.
So in spite of the wonderful room and coffee bar, I would not chose to stay there again. |

| I really enjoyed the breakfast and coffee/tea bar. The staff was SO friendly. Even though I didn't swim, the pool area looked very nice. The hotel was VERY clean. The only downfall was you could hear people in the hallway and above you walking but since I had a sound machine to sleep with, it didn't bother me at all. |

| would recommend this hotel to anyone. well maintained and decorated for the holidays. pool was wonderful. owners were running front desk and offered many ideas for dinner and things to do. |
