| Our stay at the Straits Hotel was fine. We had some difficulty finding the hotel as the sign for the Straits Hotel is small and is overshadowed by the large sign for the Magnuson hotel. Apparently this is a new acquisition.

| The Straits Hotel name did not stand out very well to someone who had never been there before. The coffee was horrible, and yogurt and fruit would have been nice, especially for those of us who don't eat sausage or gravy or powdered eggs. The bed was very comfortable. |

| We were on our way to the UP and stopped to stay the night half way. The hotel was clean and quite. There were no bed bugs and really, why stay in a hotel room in such a beautiful city! |

| We reserved under the name "Lakeview Hotel". Passed by it twice because the name had changed; then again, this review request calls it by a third name, the "Straits Hotel".
Parking lot lights didn't get turned on two days in a row (until I brought it to the attention of the front desk".
Back door locking mechanism from the rear of the parking lot (two doors down from our room) was broken and therefore couldn't be locked.
Breakfast eggs didn't taste like real eggs; balance of breakfast mediocre.
No room that I could see had a view of the lake. |

| Pictures on website are deceiving. Basic economy hotel. View of lake is across the street between two hotels. New owners and new name - confused where it was at because of name change, but we had the address and figured it out. Obvious that they try to make the appearance of an upscale hotel but the quality of the decor, etc. is not upscale. For instance, the bed looked like it had a down comforter on it, but it was a very heavy, lumpy polyester filled comforter. But for the price it was ok. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and waffles, but Sunny D orange drink was substituted for real orange juice as their machine was waiting to be replaced. people were very nice and accommodating! I've stayed at worse!! LIke I said, for the price it was fine. |

| First of all, the name above is not the current name of this hotel. When we got there we were looking for the Lakeview Motel, but we could not find it. Lucky we had the addresse with us because this is the only way we found it. The new name was on the sign out front with the former name in small print under it.
The room was nice but with a little mold in the bathroom ceiling. When we got there we were told that the pool was closed. I only book hotels with pools so the kids can swim at night. The breakfast was nice and well supplied.
I would not go back to this hotel because there are so many around. |

| This hotel was great! The only thing is that the name is no longer Lakeview. It's a Magnuson hotel, with a "sub-name" of the Straits Hotel. The rooms are very nice! The pool was closed for maintainence, which would have been nice to know before hand, but that's ok. Overall, I'd recommend it highly! The location and price were excellent! :) |
